On this project I wanted the look of old,
unmaintained trackage. All of the track it sparyed with Floquil
Rail Brown. This cuts the sheen off of the plastic and gives a
good base for the weathering to follow.
Next I nip off random ties to make them shorter so
the track will look jagged and in need of maintenance.
Usually I will weather the track more before laying
it but I will be doing that step after the track is in place. I
will be using something new to weather the track. Floquil Enamel
Paint Markers. I bought mine from MicroMark but most hobby shops can order them for you if they don't have
them in stock. The Markers come in Nine Flavors: Rust - Rail Tie
Brown - Mud - Aged Concrete - Rail Brown - Weathered Red - Grime - Earth
- Roof Brown.
