Up Phase I Phase II Phase III
This is the first layout that I have built using "Blue Board" as a base.  Many thanks to the guys at rrforums.com and Dave Frary for their help and suggestions.  The wood for the framework is Aspen.  I like the clean look and it's very workable wood.  The Liquid Nails Projects adhesive will be used for the blue board and the roadbed.  I am using Vinylbed instead of cork only because I have some left over from my last layout and I like using it.  This is the first time that I have used something other than Contact Cement to attach it to the base.  I set up a test piece using a scrap of roadbed and the Liquid Nails to see how it will work.  So far it seems to be fine.  My only concern is that the Liquid Nails is water based and I don't know how it will react to the water based scenery that I will be applying later. I received this Sears Craftsman cutting tool as a present from my nephew and I have found that is does an excellent job of cutting the Vinylbed.  The track work will consist of Shinohara Code 100 rail for compatibility and Peco Insulfrog Turnouts.  The Peco's can be moved by hand and don't require switch machines.  I thought this would work well in this situation since the layout is so small.
