This model was my first NMRA Merit Award Winner.  The model was built from an article in Model Railroad Craftsman magazine.  The multi-issue article was about a Coal Mine Company Town.  Since this model would be on display on a club layout, I modified the plans slightly by moving the loading dock to the opposite side of the building so that more of the detail could be viewed by the visitors.
